Enamel Therapy: The Next Generation of Care
A changing paradigm in caries management has widened our decisions in dental preventive care. With terms such as “minimally invasive” and “remineralization technologies,” we are faced with a new decision model in diagnosing and treating the caries disease process. This program will review the historic trends in caries control and introduce the exciting new trends in desensitization, topical fluorides, prophy pastes and varnish therapies.  We will even explore many of the over the counter aids such as zylitol and recaldent found in chewing gums and mints.

The Challenge is Caries Control…

Are you playing it safe or taking the risk!

When RISK is involved, some of us play it safe; others push their chips all in.  The challenge with caries prevention is to decide, do we continue to play it safe or should we calculate those risks by implementing an effective risk survey in your practice?

It is an essential responsibility of the dental team to identify and associate known risk factors with all of their patients in designing an individualized caries management program.  Beginning with the “how to” approach in utilizing the CAMBRA assessment, the participants will improve their critical thinking skills in correlating patient’s responses to their best treatment options.

Program features:

  • Compare and discuss the variations in the latest remineralization technologies with special attention to their benefits and limitations for each risk level.
  • Identify all of the key factors on the CAMBRA assessment form that drives our treatment decisions.
  • Recognize those clients who will be classified as low, medium and high or extreme high risk for caries.
  • Viewing a variety of case studies, participants will recognize better treatment choices based on risk, special needs, dietary challenges, compliance and supportive clinical evidence.
